Canadian Aviation Rules

Canadian flight rules are manufactured to generate pre-flight screening a stress-free experience. Using the imposed rules, passengers will move through customs faster, avoid surrendering circumstances to security and guaranteeing that valuables will always make it through. Canadian flights rules mandate what identification is necessary and which items will infiltrate security including personal care items, food and beverage, medical supplies, electronic devises plus much more.


Documentation
Canadian law necessitates that all persons 18 and older present evidence of identification. It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure they've got the correct travel documents by themselves or any children flying with them.

Government-issued identification is plenty for domestic flights within Canada. In line with Air Canada, flying between Canada plus the Us requires a valid passport.

Personal Care Items
Personal care items are permitted, however Canadian air travel rules apply. Good Canadian Air transportation Security Authority, any items such as toothpaste, creams, lotions, gels and perfumes must be within a 3.4 oz. or less container and placed in to a 1 liter transparent bag.

Food and Beverages
According to the CATSA website, baby formula and food, juice, water, and other baby items are permitted through security and aboard the plane. They are allowed in your carry-on baggage or personal items. However, a child under 24 months of age need to be flying with you.

Beverages need to be purchased following your pre-board screening security checkpoint. Snacks and sandwiches are not susceptible to volume restrictions. However, canned or jarred items are tied to 3.4 oz. containers.

Medical Supplies
As outlined by CATSA Chemical oxygen generators, LOX or oxygen cylinders aren't permitted as carry-on or checked luggage. Prescription medication and vitamins are permitted through security.

Nitroglycerin medication may be carried in carry-on baggage in volumes larger than 3.4 oz. This medication need to be declared to the Screening Officer separately.

Electronics
Canadian flight rules allow camcorders, video cameras and cameras through security. Notebooks, mobiles, Audio players will also be permitted through security. However, passengers should consult with their carrier for further usage instructions.

Medical defibrillators are permitted, however passengers must show the screening officer appropriate approval.

Cigarette Lighters
Disposable lighters and safety matches are allowed with carry-on baggage. In line with CATSA, lighters and matches have to be for private use only. A maximum of one lighter per person is permitted.

Firearms, Ammunition and Cartridges
Firearms, ammunition and cartridges are certainly not allowed in carry-on baggage. Certain items may be transported in checked baggage if approved by the air carrier. According to CATSA, all firearms, ammunition and cartridges need to be declared on the air carrier through the check-in process.
